Prescription/ CUSTOM orthotic devices are worn in shoes to improve foot function and postural alignment of the feet and lower legs. In certain situations, improper foot function and/ or improper postural alignment of the legs can result in pain and discomfort while ambulating (walking or running or standing) or can even cause excessive loading/ weight on focal areas of the feet that may result in conditions such as corns/ calluses, blistering, bunions, cracked heels, knee pain, shin pain/ splints, ankle instability/ pain, mortons neuroma/ bursitis and many more.

Our custom orthotic devices are made using the latest in 3D scanning technology to ensure an accurate impression/ mould of the feet are made to the millimetre in order to treat the condition a patient is suffering from and achieve the desired outcome.

Prior to the casting of the feet however, our trained podiatrists will perform a biomechanical assessment to analyse each individuals gait (style of walking) and discuss any important findings with you.

Ingrown toe nails are a common condition that mainly affects the big toes (can occur in smaller toes however less common) of the feet in which the corners or sides of the toe nail grows into the soft flesh/ skin.

Due to the irritation caused by the nail on the soft flesh; swelling, pain and discharge (pus) will occur until the condition is resolved.

Ingrown toe nails can occur either due to incorrect cutting of the nails, having the nails cut down the sides too short or genetics/ hereditary. Hereditary factors may be noted due to the appearance of the nail involuting/ bending into the corners.

ill fitting shoes can also be a factor to consider causing ‘‘pressing’’ of the soft flesh on the nail increasing contact due to the toe box of the shoes being too tight.

Treatment can vary between conservative management – where the nail is cut, tidied and corrected to permanent treatment – also known as a Partial Nail Avulsion (PNA) conducted under local anaesthetic. The corner of the nail(s) causing irritation is removed from the ‘‘roots’’ and cauterised to ensure no further growth and no more issues.

Swiss Dolocast Radial Shockwave Machine
Musculoskeletal Pain

Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) involves the application of shock waves delivered by radial manner to the targeted tissues. Clinically, it has been demonstrated that these pressure waves, when directed at injured tissues, elicit several beneficial metabolic reactions:

  • Reduction of Pain: ESWT helps alleviate pain experienced by nerve fibers.
  • Enhanced Blood Circulation: The therapy promotes increased blood flow in the surrounding soft tissues.
  • Initiation of Healing: By activating inflammatory cells, ESWT initiates the healing process.
  • Reduction of pain felt by nerve fibers.
Erchonica Lunula Laser
Damaged and Fungal nail(s)

The LunulaLaser™ basis of action is Low Level Laser Technology (LLLT) which stimulates the growth of strong, clear and healthy nails. The LunulaLaser combines two different wavelength lasers; (1) 405 nm and (1) 635 nm, and these two lasers work together to accelerate the growth of clear nails.

The LunulaLaser™ has been specifically designed for use by physicians and their staff, requiring very little set-up time and no operator intervention, creating an unattended application thanks to preset times and output energies.
